In this painting I was imagining what it would be like to paddle my canoe across Windy Arm of Tagish Lake on the South Klondike Highway at midnight on the Longest Day of the Year. I did not actually paddle over on the summer solstice because imagining it and painting it was far less risky. And it was more fun working out how it would look if I had.
