This painting was inspired by one of my annual trips to the Russian River in Kenai, Alaska. I like to go to the Russian as there are always grizzlies about giving me ideas for paintings and stories. When you stay there for several days you see bears in their own environment doing their thing and acting like they do normally. And I have seen some very interesting goings on that prove that bears are just as quirky as some people. This guy is searching the water for salmon while the raven 'helps'. The raven is hanging around in case the bear catches a fish and the raven can convince the bear to share. The original painting is in a private collection.
